Trial Lessons

A trial lesson is the best way to get a flavour of what a helicopter can do and the level of skill required to keep it in the air.
The experience will consist of an initial safety and technical brief with your instructor; this prepares you for flight by giving you a basic intro to the controls and instrumentation of the helicopter. After this- it’s time to go flying!
Your instructor will escort you to the helicopter and once airborne, under their close guidance, let you take the controls in flight. Few experiences match that of flying a helicopter- so all we can suggest is giving it a go!
At Arcus, we offer trial lessons in a variety of helicopters:

-
The Robinson R22 - the most popular training helicopter in the world. With 2 seats (one for you and one for your instructor) it’s a great choice for a safe and exciting introduction to the helicopter.

-
The Robinson R44 – a highly versatile and popular helicopter for private and commercial operations. With 4 seats it’s the Robinson 22’s bigger and more powerful brother and will give you a taste of what it’s like to fly something a little faster and ‘higher spec’.

-
The Bell 206 JetRanger – a larger five seat helicopter powered by a jet turbine engine, with uses in training, commercial and other utility operations.
